About Social Media (for Reg CF)

Small Change has a rich and active social media presence. We post links, original content and comments about crowdfunding and urban issues on social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram or our founder’s personal Linkedin page.

In order to stay compliant, always point to the funding portal — smallchange.co.

Next steps

If you want to become a social media Ninja, take the following steps:

  • Open your social media accounts (if they’re not already active)
  • Build connections to all of the people and businesses you know
  • Follow Small Change, everywhere
  • Share Small Change posts with your crowd
  • Write your own posts and we’ll share with the Small Change crowd
  • Tag us @oursmallchange on all channels. Easy!

Best practices

The first thing you need to know is the image size requirements for each social media channel. Here’s a handy chart for you.

ChannelImage size
Facebook1200 x 630
Linkedin1104 x 400
Twitter1024 x 512
Instagram1080 x 1080

Facebook

You can post a massive amount of characters on Facebook – 63,206 to be exact. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Keep it short and sweet. If your post talks about the offering or investing, make sure you include smallchange.co.

Here are some examples of original facebook posts:

Our latest development: A single- family Starter Home in New Orleans. For details on this crowdfunding offering, visit smallchange.co @oursmallchange

Our latest development: A single-family Starter Home in NOLA. To invest, visit smallchange.co @oursmallchange

Twitter

The micro-blogging social network upped its character limit to 280-characters. Images and video don’t count, so you’re free to write great captions for your visual media. Doesn’t mean you have to use it all, but if you have a good reason to be expansive (adding twitter handles/hashtags, dates, etc.), then go for it.

Here are some examples of original Twitter posts:

OJT brings a single-family Starter Home to New Orleans. Get details on this crowdfunding offering at smallchange.co @neworleansafm @oursmallchange #SmallChangeBigEasy

Our latest development: A single-family Starter Home in NOLA. To invest, visit smallchange.co @oursmallchange #SmallChangeBigEasy #crowdfunding #impactinvesting

Linkedin

If you are posting on an individual account, you are limited to 1,300 characters. If you are posting on a company page, the character limit is 700.

Again, keep it short and sweet, and focus on driving your crowd to your campaign page on the Small Change platform. Since LinkedIn is focused more on the business community, an original post about your offering might include thanks to those who helped get it to this stage.

Here are some examples of original LinkedIn posts:

Our latest development is a single-family Starter Home in the Lower Garden District. Special thanks to @NeighborhoodAlliance for working through the details, @MilanCommunity for the inspiration and @OurSmallChange for providing the crowdfunding platform. Can’t wait to break ground with @NOLAConstructionCompany. If you want to learn more or invest in this project, and you’re over 18, visit smallchange.co.

We’re taking our single-family Starter Home to the people and raising capital through a real estate crowdfunding campaign at smallchange.co. Check it out.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: IN MAKING AN INVESTMENT DECISION, INVESTORS MUST RELY ON THEIR OWN EXAMINATION OF THE ISSUER AND THE TERMS OF THE OFFERING, INCLUDING THE MERITS AND RISKS INVOLVED. INVESTMENTS ON SMALL CHANGE ARE SPECULATIVE, ILLIQUID, AND INVOLVE A HIGH DEGREE OF RISK, INCLUDING THE POSSIBLE LOSS OF YOUR ENTIRE INVESTMENT.

This website, smallchange.co, which we refer to as the “Site,” is used by two different companies:  NSSC Crowd, LLC, which we refer to as “NSSC Crowd,” and NSSC Funding Portal, LLC, which we refer to as “NSSC Funding Portal.” NSSC Crowd offers investments in real estate projects under Rule 506(c) of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These investments are offered to accredited investors only. NSSC Funding Portal, which is a licensed Funding Portal, offers investments in real estate projects under Regulation Crowdfunding, which is also known as Title III Crowdfunding. These investments are offered to everyone.

By using this Site, you are subject to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. Please read these carefully before using the Site.

A crowdfunding investment involves risk. You should not invest any funds in the offerings listed on this Site unless you can afford to lose your entire investment.

Although our Site offers investors the opportunity to invest in real estate projects and companies, we do not make recommendations regarding the appropriateness of a particular opportunity for any particular investor. We are not investment advisers. Investors must make their own investment decisions, either alone or with their personal advisors. Real estate can be risky and unpredictable. For example, many experienced, informed people lost money when the real estate market declined in 2007-8. Time has shown that the real estate market goes down without warning, sometimes resulting in significant losses. Some of the risks of investing in real estate include changing laws, including environmental laws; floods, fires, and other Acts of God, some of which can be uninsurable; changes in national or local economic conditions; changes in government policies, including changes in interest rates established by the Federal Reserve; and international crises. You should invest in real estate in general, and in the opportunities listed at the Site in particular, only if you can afford to lose your investment and are willing to live with the ups and downs of the real estate industry.

We provide financial projections for some of the investment opportunities listed on the Site. All such financial projections are only estimates based on current conditions and current assumptions. The actual result of any investment is likely to be different than the original projection, often by a large amount.

Neither we nor anyone else guarantees the results reflected in financial projections. Neither the Securities and Exchange Commission nor any state agency has reviewed the investment opportunities listed on the Site.

Thank you for using the Site. If you have questions, please contact us at [email protected].
