Gangnam meets tango.

November 9, 2017 by Eve Picker

With 50,000 fried chicken restaurants in South Korea, you’d have to say that Koreans love their fried chicken. If you’re in Pittsburgh and you want to know what all the fuss is about, the newly opened Ki Pollo at 4407 Butler St in the Lawrenceville neighborhood is the place to go.

4407 Butler just happens to be the site of the Buvinger Building. Yeah, that Buvinger Building – the one where Small Change crowdfunded $238,500 to help the developer transform it from an underutilized property to a neighborhood asset.

The minds behind Ki Pollo – which ups the delicious ante by also serving empanadas – are no strangers to Lawrenceville. They opened the restaurant, Ki Ramen, next door on Butler St just a few months ago. When they saw the historic Buvinger Building being redeveloped and the first-floor commercial space become available, they sensed the opportunity to expand their footprint and bring some of the world’s most popular street foods right to Butler St. Right in Lawrenceville. Right in Pittsburgh.

Change…it tastes good.
